Mortgage Justice
It’s no secret that mortgage fraud has played a big part in the overall financial debacle that has unfolded over the past five plus years. After more than a decade of deteriorating standards and regulations we finally saw it all come home to roost. And of course everyone is pointing fingers the other direction… I mean we have to hold someone responsible for this mess, don’t we?! But as we focus in on some of the bigger players in the industry that have been responsible for billions in losses, the measure of justice doesn’t seem all too balanced.
Check out this installment from Frank & Brian over at the National Real Estate Post that examines “The Scales of Mortgage Justice” – starting a minute in and running for about three.
Rather interesting who really gets any punishment when the dust settles. And it is quite amazing that we see highlighted here that “the more you steal the less you serve…” in both jail time and paying fines!
What’s your opinion? Is justice being served, or do the super-wealthy get protection while the middle classes (or at least the upper class members near the bottom of their bunch) get stuck with the bill and notoriety?
