It seems the answer to every problem is to make it better with rules, regulations, and more bureaucracy.  I guess the thought is that if doing it wrong will be harder than just doing it right, then somehow everyone will get it and comply.  Well, mortgage lenders have been castigated as those that caused the mortgage meltdown… and probably global warming, too!  So now they have the Compliance Monkeys on their backs 24/7 – check it out; this is priceless!
